By the time these words are pushed into public display in this digital ether, the American people of America will have chosen their leader for the next few years. Will they pick someone who’s pretty bad, or someone who’s horrifically bad? Heck, why is that even a question? You already know the answer. I don’t. I’m in the past.
As it stands, I’m in blissful ignorance. Except not blissful. Aggravating. This election campaign has been aggravating. It’s not even my country but even I care and am scared about the outcome of this result. So let’s try reactions to both and you can mentally delete the irrelevant one as applicable.

So Trump won and is now the President. Oh hell, this is bad. This is beyond awful and the whole world will feel the ramifications of this result. As the bloke from R.E.M sang, it’s the end of the world as we know it. Only I don’t feel fine. I feel queasy. I feel uneasy. I feel like hitching a ride on the next rocket off this planet. See y’all.
I hope the WiFi stretches as far as the upper atmosphere, though. It could get lonely and boring up there without some form of entertainment.

Okay it’s from 2015, but like a sheet that’s spent too long in a tumble dryer, this needs airing. Recommendations from friends are often brilliant, and this lot of Irish noise makers was one such. They became our own little secret treasure. Nobody else around us knew about them and that made them special. The music was eclectic, eccentric and electric. Try saying that five time fast.
Five years ago, I was fortunate enough to witness them live, throwing keyboards about, screaming and thumping the crowd barrier. Amazing night. In the last week, however, the group announced the end of the road the same way most farewelling bands do: with a Facebook post. No new material has surfaced since the self-titled third album last year, but its only right to feature some of that here. The band may no longer be carrying on, but the music remains forever. Thanks FLApes.
