Quantity Over Quality

It’s at this point, facing the equinox and the prospect of shifting our collective timekeeping ahead by an hour, that I’m hoping that’s it for the snow and ice now. It’s still cold and windy, but at least it’s brighter and should be less likely for blizzard conditions to occur. Yes, I’ve resorted to moaning about the weather.

It could be the fact that I’ve spaced these out by an extra week, or it could be that I regularly conjure words into paragraphs for a general living (or both) but I’m really not feeling the love for writing recreationally all that much any more. Yet, here I am. Favouring quantity over quality, punctuality over… well, you know, absence. Maybe that’s good for character and some notion of self-discipline, maybe not so much for creating something worthy that’ll stand the test of time.

I’m going to stop now. Not forever, like. I don’t think that’s my intention. There’ll be something else new here in a fortnight, but don’t exactly expect it to be exciting. It’ll probably just be another rehash if this shit.

Here’s something woozy and trippy. I never normally cared much for over-production in music – just play a straightforward tune with some real instruments, people. But, as with every rule, there’s always an exception. Well… I’m sure there are many exceptions. This one’s probably just the most recent of them.

With a repetitive riff and repetitive vocals to match, the whole thing feels slightly disorienting and never-ending. It almost feels completely wrong but strangely compelling at the same time. Ironically, it’s not necessarily the greatest thing to be listening to while driving either.
